Dear Fellow Survivalist;
As I’m sure you’re aware; we’ve had a surge in mass shootings lately. There doesn’t seem to be any discernible pattern to it yet, other than people who need to have their heads examined. But that hasn’t stopped the news media from blatantly blaming white conservative men. As per their norm, they do that even before anything much is known about the event, the shooter or their motive.
In one of these recent cases, it too less than a day for it to come out that the shooter was a Muslim and motivated by radical Islamic beliefs. But by then the damage had been done, as the vast majority of the population heard that it was a white conservative male, yet never heard the correction.
Yet if you look at the history of mass shootings over the last couple of decades, that’s not what you see. The one thing that mass shooters have in common is that they are young men with serious emotional/psychological problems. Most are loners, have been bullied and are largely ignored by their peers. Their final act of lashing out violently is their 15 minutes of fame, as they commit suicide. In a very high percentage of cases, they are registered Democrats, or if they are too young to vote, their parents are.
That doesn’t seem to matter to the media or to left-leaning thinkers. They have placed their own spin on these shootings, resulting in a number of supposed “peer review studies” claiming that the biggest terrorist threat in the United States is radical right-wing white males. It doesn’t matter that the data doesn’t back up this conclusion. While those shooters are white males, they aren’t terrorists and they aren’t conservative. But since we’ve got most of the guns, we’re somehow to blame.
More than 50 years ago, Malcolm X talked about this phenomenon, saying: “The media’s the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that’s power. Because they control the minds of the masses. The press is so powerful in its image-making role, it can make the criminal look like he’s the victim and the victim look like he’s the criminal.”
In the light of this quote, it seems quite clear that the media’s smear campaign is deliberate, blaming the group they most want to hate, so that those who are the true criminals will go free. This is the danger that we face.
I can’t help but notice that this surge in mass shootings is happening at the same time that the President and Congress are both pushing for more gun control. I’ve seen this happen so many times, that it’s hard to tell anymore which is causing which. Some have put forth theories that some of these events are actually paid for and planned by those on the left, so as to give momentum and legitimacy to their gun control efforts. While I am not one to subscribe to conspiracy theories, the convenience of these events happening when the left wants them, seems suspicious.
The point of all this is that there are powerful forces arrayed against our Second Amendment rights today. They are powerful enough that they could arrange for shootings, just so that they could use them. But they are clever enough and prepared enough that they will use the events which are handed to them to further their agenda.
These people don’t care what you or I think. They don’t even care what their own constituents think. Many of the new gun buyers today are Democrats, responding to their concern about violent rioting in their cities. The overall percentage of the population which is in favor of gun control is dropping, according to studies by Gappup and Pew. Yet the left-wing media and lawmakers continue acting like support for their efforts to curtail our Second Amendment rights is rising.
But then, we all know that gun control isn’t about the guns, it’s about control. They only care about the violence because they can use it for their political benefit. But to you and I it’s something different. It’s the reason why we carry and it justifies us continuing to carry, regardless of what the media and gun control lobby say.
There are currently 21 states which have enacted some form of constitutional carry, up from just one a few short years ago. Yet Washington doesn’t seem to notice this, except as an obstacle to be overcome. Yet this trend shows the truth of what the bulk of American people want; protections of their constitutionally guaranteed rights.
We must stand with those who are standing for us. How you do that is up to you. But this is too important an issue for us to leave to others. If we want to maintain our rights to defend ourselves and our families, then we must stand up and be counted. We must let those in Washington, as well as at the state level, know where we stand. And we must remain ever vigilant, in case we happened to be at the place where the next mass shooter decides to get their moment of glory.
That’s why we keep our powder dry and why it’s a good idea to keep our survival gear close at hand.
